It also comes with extras, which according to the box, takes 10gb to install. The installer for Director Suite 5 says it takes 2.3 gb of space for the four main applications that it comes with: PhotoDirector 8, PowerDirector 15, AudioDirector 7, and ColorDirector 5. In the hunt for a quick and easy software package to preserve my children's childhoods on photo and video, I came across this product. I'm sure it is just because I'm used to my old photo editing software but I'm finding that part quite frustrating.

The only reason I'd deducting a star is I've had a hard time learning how to navigate/save the product I'm working on. If you are artistically inclined and have a vision this could be an inexpensive way to build your brand presence on social media or prepare posters, flyers, or other print materials. I can easily see the value of this program for a small business creating some marketing materials in house.

For those who are interested in that aspect they were all easy to use- you are easily able to adjust the brightness of a smile or eyes, increase the overall size of the eyes, slim down the jaw, easily adjust the skin tone, blending tools can help smooth fly away hair and make it look soft and romantic with a few clicks. Since I am more interested in using this for family pictures some of those built in tools don't have a great deal of appeal to me beyond blemish removal tools. However a big chunk of the tools are for editing people/faces. There is also a gradient tool that will allow you to blend them together so you can have multiple areas of transitioning color. It also lets you compare the original photo to the one you are working on which can help you decide what edits to make and keep. It is easy to use and QUICK once you get the hang of it. This program has an AMAZING background removing tool- I absolutely love it. I'm sure that was buried in the directions but I love to dive right in (though that doesn't always serve me well.) I had to unclick one of the boxes under the zoom icon to allow me to manipulate that layer. To get the most out of you have to navigate the in-program help menu.įor instance when working with layers I was having a real hard time figuring out how to get the select tool to let me adjust the size of the working layer and move it. Clicking on help will bring you to their website with 4 videos which will give you some idea of the capabilities of this program. This is not something you are going to be able to pick up and be able to get the most out of it right away. I chose this for the photo editing software and this review will pertain to ONLY that aspect of the product.

It will take some serious blowing my mind once i finally do get to try it out at this point however for me to raise my rating just because of the registration needing internet to even open the program BS now having to wait even longer before i can jump into some editing. If i find out internet is required to even USE the darn thing beyond registration and maybe a few OPTIONAL updates, then i will be lowering my rating to 1 star.

What was the point of ordering discs with pre- registered activation code again?!!? I figured ordering the actual disc i wouldn't NEED internet connection just to get started familiarizing myself with the tool interface. i wasn't expecting internet connection to be REQUIRED for this software to even open the program :-/ had i known i would have just given Adobe Premiere Pro a try. I will have to let you know IF i am ever able to use it. Reviewed in the United States on 4 June 2017
